Abby Kawamata (the artist behind Abby Grace Design) is a Brisbane-based artist and calligrapher with a keen interest in illustration of the natural world, particularly florals and birds.

Working primarily with mediums such as pastel, pencil, and ink, Abby’s work utilises block colours and fine linework to showcase delicate and intricate forms. Through simple compositions and restrained palettes, Abby's work aims to prompt a moment of pause, encourage looking closer, and reflect the simple joy that can be found in the mundane.  

With a background in graphic design, Abby enjoys creating ‘usable’ art in the form of stationery, homewares, and apparel, and can often be found working with her dachshund, Cosmo, by her side.
